Wythenshawe CC was honoured to have been chosen to host the esteemed flagship opening event for this years
‘ECB Get Set Weekend’ Sat 5th April 2025, welcoming England’s Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn & Kesh Fonseka to Longley Lane, Northenden, along with teams from ECB media, official sponsors Toyota UK (Warrington branch) & Jen Barden Exec Director from Lancashire Cricket Foundation, who joined our fabulous team of over 50 of our club’s volunteers, players & families in getting our amazing ground & facilities ready for the season.
Opportunities like this only come along when you are recognised as an official, outstanding, safe & welcoming organisation, of which we are extremely proud to be.
There will be more media coverage & photo shoots to share over the weekend, but just to give you a flavour of what we achieved & experienced today here are some of my photos taken during the event.
Apologies to anyone I’ve missed, I’m hoping there will be many more photos of others participating taken by the media crew.
A massive thanks to everyone who gave up their valuable time today to support, it really was a great day for our community club & we hope you all enjoyed being part of the cricket collective journey - thank you, from all of us at Wythenshawe CC
Tracy Bailey (Jnr Secretary/Club Safeguarding Officer)
