A great Friday evening here at Longley Lane celebrating Wythenshawe CC’s Senior end of season awards presented by guest speaker Lancs CC legend John Abrahams after reminiscing about his illustrious Lancs cricket & coaching career, exchanging sporting stories & anecdotes whilst being interviewed by Lancs MC Peter Young.
Fantastic auction and raffle followed with some great cricket & sports memorabilia prizes to raise funds jointly for Lancs Cricket Foundation & Wythenshawe CC, thanks to all who contributed on the night.
First up to present awards was 3XI Captain Andy Davies;

Andy thanked everyone for their contribution to the season & especially to all youth players who are coming through the club’s development system.

Sandeep also thanked everyone for their continued support & is looking forward to next season to continue developing the 2XI.
1XI Captain Matt Taylor was last to present awards and started by thanking all club staff, ground staff, tech & Tracy for all the photos, tech & social media support over the season plus a special mention to Ben Dibben for his contribution to scoring for the 1XI each week.

Chairman Mike Dean concluded the awards evening by thanking John Abrahams & representatives from Lancs Cricket Foundation for their contribution to the evening, to Black Apron for the great food, to Vijay Muslapuram for all the hard work he puts into running the admin, fixtures & league registration for all the Seniors, to everyone for attending, to the club’s ground, bar and coaching staff for their continued hard work and for all the support over the season.
We look forward to next season where we will be pushing to seal promotion & continue to develop success across all cricket sections at Wythenshawe CC.
