What a fantastic day!
A huge thank you to all our members and the wonderful Northenden community for coming along to our annual Funday Boat Race After Party — and what an attendance it was, despite the rain, rain and more rain!
The weather might have been rubbish, but it certainly didn’t dampen the community spirit! It was brilliant to see so many familiar faces enjoying the celebrations, including lots of concert-goers popping in for a drink and a bite to eat before heading off to Wythenshawe Park to see The Prodigy, as well as the many intrepid rowers returning from the Northenden Boat Race to continue the celebrations with us.
A very special thank you to all the fantastic people who helped make the day such a success:
Top Grub Grill — the brilliant mobile food van
Rob Dean — for the fantastic curry
The Sweetie Lady — keeping everyone’s sweet tooth happy
DJ Dave - for the banging tunes!
Marco Rea’s Ice Cream - for the delicious icy treats!
Bouncy Pete’s Inflatables — for the fun
Craig Johnson — for the great guitar set
The fabulous Union Chapel Jazz Band — for providing the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon
And, of course, well done and a massive thank you to our brilliant staff team — Mike, Fred, Phil, Michelle, Emma, Nicky, Liam & Morgan — for all their hard work behind the scenes and for keeping everything ticking over so smoothly throughout the day.
As always, we’re delighted to support the Northenden Boat Race with a generous donation towards their fundraising for The Christie. It’s a fantastic local event supporting such an important cause, and we’re proud to play our part.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along, got involved and helped create such a brilliant atmosphere.
What a great day — rain and all!
