Well done Wythenshawe CC U11s on another great team performance this morning, with a 5 wicket victory away vs Timperley Lightning U11s.
TCC won the toss & elected to bat first, 2 lovely innings from S. Pattisapu (30 rtno) & V. Nedungadi (21) however with some deadeye bowling from James Pullen & Rhys McCoy both taking 2 wickets each, plus 1 wicket a piece for Jamie Sullivan, George Ewing, Freddie Ramsbottom & Isaac Parker, compounded with excellent fielding from Wythenshawe, saw Timperley all out for 79 in 19.2 overs.
WCC requiring 80 to win, set off determined to gain their 2nd win on the bounce, a slightly shaky start saw us 3 wickets down for 15 runs, up stepped James Pullen & Freddie Ramsbottom who rose to the occasion, Freddie retiring on 26 runs & James reaching 21 runs.
Wythenshawe held fast & finished off their innings with Zayn Jan & Sam Frese (both U9’s!) getting us over the line with 80/5 off 16.4 overs.
Something special is happening this season at Wythenshawe CC & we’ve seen lots of great cricket being played by all our Junior teams - well done Coach Patel & thanks as always for the wonderful support from our parents, for helping to score & for team photos.
Thank you also to Timperley for their lovely hospitality.
